Put the E back in Cheese Factory – Sonoma Sun

Posted on February 26, 2022 by Sonoma Valley Sun

What does Mark DeMenno’s one-man protest want? An ‘E’. When does he want it? Now!

DeMenno painted his face yellow, donned a cheese hat and yellow clothes, and roamed the sidewalk in front of the Sonoma Cheese Factory today, calling for owner Ken Mattson to replace the missing letter on the side of the famous Plaza destination.

He wants Mattson to buy a vowel. Specifically, the missing E.

The light-hearted campaign includes the funny but fake website, Gofundcheese.yum. But DeMenno’s antics aren’t all tongue-in-yellow cheek. He feels that although Mattson’s companies have purchased numerous Sonoma Valley properties, they’ve done nothing positive to any businesses. It’s a call to get them to come out of hiding, he says, and share their plans with the public.

It’s likely DeMenno will mount more pop-up protests. Why not — he’s got more paint.
