Procurement Specialist – Seven Days Jobs

OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a high energy, team oriented, results driven individual to take responsibility for purchasing materials (machined parts, hardware, components, circuit cards), supplies, and services to maintain production requirements. Lead the request for quote process and contract negotiations to deliver best cost and quality. While an understanding of avionics and aviation technology (specifically Health Usage and Monitoring Systems) will help, being self-motivated to succeed, a quick learner and naturally curious are most important.

LOCATIONS:
This position is based out of our headquarters in Waterbury, VT, with remote flexibility part of the time.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation plan will include salary and full benefits. Overall compensation package will be based on experience. We want to hire someone who is motivated and confident in their ability to be successful in this role.

MANAGEMENT:
Position reports to the Director of Quality and Manufacturing.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Place purchase orders
  • Track orders until delivery
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships
  • Develop safety stock levels
  • Monitor inventory and place orders to maintain safety stock levels
  • Develop future state procurement processes
  • Identify obsolescence and recommend activity based on marketplace availability
  • Conduct vendor delivery assessments
  • Develop scorecard for critical vendors
  • Respond to inquiries on order status, changes, or cancellations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent organizational, teamwork, and negotiating skills are required
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • BA/BS degree (or 5+ years’ experience in direct buying role)
  • Must enjoy the entrepreneurial atmosphere of a small company fast growing company and possess a positive attitude
  • Experience implementing ERP/MRP is a plus
  • Experience supporting ISO9001/AS9100 certification is a plus
