Salary per annum – Grade 4 (£24,948- £29,619) 

Full time, Permanent

THE POST – Procurement Officer 

The Procurement Officer provides procurement support to the Senior Procurement Business Partner, the Senior Procurement Officer and Schools and Departments across the University.

 

The successful candidates’ key activities will include 

  • Proactively increasing the use of e-Catalogues.
  • Promoting the use of APUC Framework Agreements.
  • Contributing to the ongoing delivery of procurement related training across UWS. 
  • Assisting in managing the use of Corporate Procurement Cards.
  • Assisting in the management of UWS wide contracts. 
  • Assisting in the preparation of Tender Documentation. 
  • Administering Quick Quotes, Mini Competitions and Tender’s on Public Contract’s Scotland (PCS) and PCS-tender. 
  • Recording and monitoring the social and economic benefits delivered through UWS contracts.
  • Supporting the monitoring of contract compliance across the Campus. 
  • Supporting the implementation of Supplier Relationship Management. 


The Procurement Officer will be part of small procurement team which will provide you with both the opportunity to quickly expand your procurement experience and knowledge and to allow you to use your existing experience and knowledge to positively contribute to UWS Strategy 2025. 

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Educated to Degree level or a minimum of 3 years working within a public sector procurement environment
  • Level 4 – Diploma (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or committed to achieving with support from UWS 
  • Experience working within a public sector procurement environment
  • Experience utilising e-Procurement solutions
  • Experience facilitating tender processes 
  • Experience including Sustainability in tender evaluation criteria.
  • Experience using PCS/PCSt.
  • Experience extracting reports from a Finance Management System
