Our Organisation
The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England. We are responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels; from grass roots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International teams, and has two core assets: Wembley Stadium and St George’s Park.
The Role
- Own responsibility for spend across certain Divisions of the FA Group (incorporating The FA Ltd, Wembley National Stadium Ltd, and the National Football Centre Ltd)
- To support and encourage compliance with the Procurement policy
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain senior-level internal and external stakeholder and supplier relationships
- Work closely with divisions in the FA Group to create sourcing plans and tender documentation which are comprehensive, transparent, and designed to deliver best value and achieve the FA’s objectives
- Conduct pricing analysis, ensuring that all recommendations are underpinned by solid financial comparisons
- Prepare spend analysis from the accounting system against suppliers, department or cost codes to identify methods of improved category management
- Lead the procurement activity (plan, source, select, management and delivery) for a number of FA divisions
- Manage the end to end sourcing activity including tender documents, invitations to tender, post tender reports etc
- Liaise directly with suppliers during the tender process to ensure they receive the relevant information, invites and responses
- Audit usage of key services and provide feedback to budget holders and suppliers in order to reduce spend and ensure compliance with policy
- Lead in the negotiation and implementation of agreements working closely with the legal team and the appropriate FA division
- Ensure that suitable contracts are negotiated and placed with suppliers, which minimise risk and protect the commercial interests of the organisation. This will include business continuity plans for any suppliers or items of supply which may be classed as critical
- Deliver annualised Opex savings targets
- To execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities
What we are looking for
Essential
- Ability to operate in a dynamic working environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines
- IT skills – Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Committed to providing high levels of service to both internal and external customers
Desirable
- Experience of handling large data sets and dealing with a constantly changing set of requirements, to identify and understand critical issues
- Good understanding of the workings of a requisition-to-pay system, from both a raiser and approver perspective
