Procter & Gamble Wins Two AMCHAM CSR Awards, Driving Thought Leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility

For over 30 years, P&G Thailand has maintained its commitment to partnering with the Thai government in developing the Thai economy by helping its wholesaler and retailer partners grow their businesses.

The company’s ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Business Development in their annual Thailand Wholesale and Retail 4.0 Business Conference is testament to its long-term commitment towards Thailand 4.0 – a progressive economic vision for the country. The Small and Medium Enterprise program managed by the Distributor Operations Sales Team of P&G Thailand equips their Wholesalers and Retailers with dynamic business knowledge and innovative thinking to further grow their businesses. This programme is embedded in their corporate business strategy as a sustainable growth driver, as they understand that by building the capabilities of their SME wholesalers and retailers, they are able to forge stronger business partnerships, ensure transfer of business expertise, and ultimately drive sustainable growth for the Thai economy and society.

In recognition of these efforts, P&G Thailand won two awards in the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Thailand CSR Excellence Recognition Award Thanksgiving Dinner held on 18th November at ShangriLa Hotel Bangkok. The first award, Gold Level ACE Recognition, recognises P&G Thailand’s continued commitment to its CSR efforts. The second is the Special Ambassador’s Award for Excellence in Thai-US Partnership which recognises the company’s Annual SME Programme, in partnership with the Thailand Ministry of Commerce, as they sustainably support their Wholesale and Retail SME Partners in progressing towards Thailand 4.0.

The recognition dinner was attended by over 500 members of AMCHAM Thailand headed by AMCHAM Executive Director Heidi Gallant, and keynote speaker Mr. Michael Heath – Chargé d’ Affaires of the US Embassy in Thailand. Out of the 68 companies recognised for their CSR efforts, only 4 companies won special awards. One of them was bagged by P&G Thailand – the Special Ambassador’s Award for Excellence in Thai-US Partnership, which was accepted by P&G Thailand’s General Manager and Vice President, Mr Nitin Darbari. This recognition highlights P&G’s reputation as a thought-leader in Corporate Citizenship with their collective efforts towards being a #forceforgood and a #forceforgrowth.
