A major fire consumed a surfboard factory in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, on December 26, sending plumes of thick black smoke into the air and causing power lines to spark.

Both the DHD Surboards factory and a neighbouring business were gutted in the fire, which began around 9am, according to reports.
