Porsche Factory Driver Squads For 2023 Hypercar and GTP Programmes Confirmed

Porsche Penske Motorsport have confirmed an 8 driver pool that will provide the core of their full-season driver line-ups for the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship campaigns with twin programmes for two-car Porsche 963 efforts

In addition to the already confirmed presence of Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr, current Porsche works drivers Kévin Estre, Michael Christensen, André Lotterer, Laurens Vanthoor, Matt Campbell, and Mathieu Jaminet will be involved with Frédéric Makowiecki already having played a key role: during the rollout at Weissach in January, the Frenchman drove the first runs in the Porsche 963 and also turned the first laps in the simulator.

Other driver announcements, including those for the endurance races at Daytona, Sebring and Road Atlanta (Petit Le Mans), will be made at a later date.

Jonathan Diuguid, Managing Director of Porsche Penske Motorsport:

“Expectations are extremely high,” acknowledges the American. “Not only from the public but also from Porsche and Team Penske, who have written great motorsport chapters together in the past.” Diuguid and Travis Law (Competition Director) will guide the global Porsche Penske Motorsport Team, with direct oversight and management of both the FIA WEC and IMSA programs. Daily operations of the FIA WEC team will be led by Bernhard Demmer (General Manager) and Francis Schammo (Team Manager). Joel Svensson (Team Manager) will be responsible in the IMSA championship in North America.
