Polish Health Minister Quits Amid Scandal Over Virus Procurement

Poland’s Health Minister resigned Tuesday amid allegations of graft connected to purchases of medical gear needed to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Discussions about my departure from the cabinet have been going on for months, but I agreed with the prime minister to finish work on some matters” before resigning on Tuesday, Lukasz Szumowski told reporters in Warsaw. “I’m returning to my profession as a cardiologist.”
