Police investigate cause of Yatala factory fire

Police are investigating the cause of a fire at a food-preparation factory at Yatala on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services, including seven firefighting trucks, were called to Binary Street about 9.30pm on Saturday to find the unoccupied two-storey building was well engulfed.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control and stop the flames from spreading to nearby premises by 11.10pm.

The second floor of the building was damaged, but no one was injured.

A crime scene has been declared and scientific officers would continue investigations on Saturday.

Anyone with information or relevant dashcam vision prior to the fire should contact police.
