Podcast | Dr. Lisa Williams Is Blazing Paths in Both Supply Chain Academia and the Business World | 2022-02-02

You might say that Dr. Lisa Williams had accomplished quite enough in her academic career: first African American to earn a doctorate in logistics from The Ohio State University, first female processor to receive a multi-million-dollar endowed chair, and first African American professor to be granted tenure at Penn State University. But then she walked away from it all to start her own business: The World of Entertainment, Publishing and Inspiration, or World of EPI, which became the largest Black-owned multicultural doll company. On this episode, we hear about how she launched a successful business from scratch with no on-the-ground experience, and has kept it thriving through the pandemic. We’ll also talk about how to achieve true diversity in supply chain careers. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
