Petition: No More Bailouts for Factory Farms

By now, you probably know the ways in which factory farms are extremely harmful to not only animals, but also low-income and mostly-POC communities, the workers (who are often undocumented individuals), and the planet. Luckily, as more vegan and vegetarian options become widely available, more people are turning against the horrible animal agriculture industry and opting to support more ethical, sustainable companies.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, factory farm conditions and practices have gotten even worse. Farms have to euthanize millions of animals because they aren’t able to slaughter them for food. One farm even roasted its pigs alive. Meat processing plants, slaughterhouses, and factory farms have had huge outbreaks among workers because the companies neglected to provide workers with proper protection.

Despite this appalling degree of negligence and cruelty, factory farms are asking for bailouts. The National Pork Producers Council asked our government to give them over $1.6 billion in taxpayer money to slaughter millions of pigs and then dump them in landfills. That money should not be going to an industry that is not only unsustainable and unethical but also could cause future zoonotic disease pandemics, just like COVID. Sign this petition and join Full Circle Farm Sanctuary today and send the message loud and clear:  No MORE bailouts for factory farmers!
