On Thursday, a part-time employee was arrested at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, on Amsterdam Avenue at West 76th Street, “following an investigation into ‘firearms and fake ID distribution,’” according to New York Jewish Week.

WSR called the NYPD for further details and learned that the employee was female, but for more information was told to “call the feds.” We are attempting to reach them.

Rabbi Joanna Samuels, CEO of the JCC Manhattan, also could not provide more information due to the ongoing investigation, but made it clear that “there was never any imminent or presumed threat to the JCC,” in a statement to the Rag. “That said, out of an abundance of caution, we have enhanced our security measures for the time being,” she added. “We are grateful to law enforcement, and especially our local 20th Precinct, for their swift actions, and will continue to work hand in hand as they continue their investigation.”
