Origo builds out travel division with acquisition of The Booking Factory

Hotel property management system The Booking Factory has been acquired by Origo for £500,000.

Iceland-based Origo, which offers IT services across various sectors, recently opened a travel division and offers car rental technology as well as website design services.

Evan Davies, founder of The Booking Factory, says proceeds of the sale will go into developing channel manager Channex, which was launched in 2018 and is based in The Netherlands.

He adds that the Icelandic company will also now also use the Channex technology.

Last November Origo sold a 55% stake in productivity software company Tempo to U.S-based Diversis Capital for $35.5 million.
