High Street in Mantua was closed for about two hours Friday morning after a fire was reported at Mantaline Corporation, 4754 E. High St.
An employee was treated at the scene for minor burns, but no one was taken to the hospital.
The call came in at 8:42 a.m. for a building on fire, said Mantua-Shalersville Fire Chief Matt Roosa. Roosa said sparks from workers welding a door in the building ignited a machine, which set a pallet of cardboard on fire.
The fire department got the fire under control in about 20 minutes, Roosa said, adding that the fire was “significant” but the sprinkler system did its job to contain the fire.
The department is still assessing the damage to the building and machinery.
High Street was closed soon after the fire department got to the scene and reopened around 11 a.m.
Mutual aid was provided by Hiram Fire, Aurora Fire, Streetsboro Fire, Auburn Township Fire and Community EMS.
