Off the Menu: Supply chain woes impact restaurant expansion plans

So often used in the restaurant business these days that the phrase has become a cliche, “supply chain problems” continues to turn up in various discussions throughout the industry, especially when the development and construction of new restaurant locations is being discussed.

Backorders on restaurant equipment continue to be several months on up to a year in length, delaying both renovations and new build outs.

Several major chains have had to cut back on expansion plans and factor increased costs associated with construction delays into their development budgets.
