NSFAS Completes Laptop Procurement for Students

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) recently announced that it has completed the procurement of laptops to aid students in their studies.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation directed NSFAS to procure learning devices for students to assist in the blended learning environment.

It was then that the NSFAS Digital Learning Device Programme was introduced.

NSFAS stated that the tenders for the laptops were awarded to four service providers and all were successfully tested by the organization.

The awarded service providers included Pinnacle Micro (R3 863.56 cost per unit), CEOS Technologies (R5 290 cost per unit), MLO Distinctive Solutions (R5 300 cost per unit) and East Side Group (R5 750 cost per unit).

Students received laptops with Microsoft Windows, tracking software, chargers and a laptop bag which was 100% locally manufactured.

Millions of students benefitted from the programme and continue to use their devices to improve their learning experience.
