No injuries in Huntley factory fire

A faulty dust collection system at a Huntley factory is being blamed for a Tuesday night fire that filled the facility with smoke.

Firefighters responded to the 12000 block of Jim Dhamer Drive just after 9:20 p.m. for reports of smoke “pouring into the building.”

Firefighters discovered a dust collection system on fire and began to extinguish the blaze.

Smoke from the fire filled the inside of the factory, and a special ventilation vehicle from the Elk Grove Village Fire Department was called in to help clear out the building.

No injuries were reported and investigators are still trying to determine what caused the malfunction that led to the fire.

No damage estimate was immediately available.
