Nimal Siripala sworn in as Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation

Nimal Siripala de Silva has been sworn in as the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation.

He took oaths after being cleared by a committee which investigated corruption allegations against him.

His Ministry was accused of corruption by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had called for an independent investigation into the allegations.

Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva had then informed the President that he will temporarily step down from his post until investigations are over. (Colombo Gazette)
