New fruit and vegetable delivery service launched in Cumbria

Fruit and vegetable wholesaler Inter Fresh from Cumbria has a fresh, healthy and environmental approach to the trade. The company has launched a partnership called Boxed Fresh, which deliver fresh fruit boxes to the workplace and boxes of vegetables to the home.

The men behind it are William Box, managing director at Inter Fresh, and Jonny Honeyman. They both wanted to offer a solution for people and workplaces aiming to go plastic free and wanting a healthier lifestyle.

Residents can sign up to a weekly subscription or as a one-off purchase. They can choose from different mixes such as Vegetable only or a mixture of Fruit and Veg which are available in a range of sizes to suit any household. Prices start from just £10 and delivery is free in the Carlisle area.

Workplaces are also able to sign up for a subscription and can choose from a 33 piece fruit box, 50 piece fruit box and an 80 piece fruit box. Bespoke boxes can be arranged.

“It a natural progression for me having Inter Fresh who already supply quality produce to local restaurants, hotels, cafés and establishments, to then be able to offer that to residents and workplaces. It’s also something we have been asked about and when Jonny, who is a long-time friend as well, wanted to do something similar, it made sense to do it together,” said Box.

The venture had a soft launch over the festive period, which proved to be a great success as more than 300 boxes were ordered and delivered.
