April 27 (Renewables Now) – German reciprocating compressors manufacturer Neuman & Esser Group will invest up to BRL 45 million (USD 9.1m/EUR 8.5m) in the development of a factory to produce green hydrogen equipment in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state.
Through its local unit, the German company is planning to manufacture, among several other technologies, electrolysis-based green hydrogen generators and ethanol and biomethane reformers, the state government said.
For this year, Neuman&Esser will invest BRL 20 million in order to expand its factory in Minas Gerais. According to Neuman&Esser’s local general director, Marcelo Veneroso, the firm expects to enter into partnerships with companies looking into other suitable technologies.
In all, a total of 275 jobs should be created with this initiative, the state government noted
