Nashik among ten districts under Skill India’s SANKALP | Nashik News

Nashik: Nashik has been selected as the beneficiary for central government’s Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) under the National Skill Development Mission.
The district skill committee will now prepare a programme to provide training for people in various sectors, resident deputy collector Bhagwat Doifode said.
Doifode chaired the district skill development executive meeting organized by the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre (DSDE&EGC).
“Under the SANKALP initiative, the government aims at providing and honing skills of people either from their respective fields or freshers depending upon their abilities, thus providing them with self-employment opportunities and getting jobs as supplementary,” the officer said.
There are more than 40 broadly classified sectors in which people from rural and urban areas can be trained. These sectors include agriculture, automobile (servicing and repairs), fabrication, banking and accounting, insurance, construction, food processing, medical and nursing, textiles, material management, tourism and hospitality, production and manufacturing and many more.
Sampat Chaate, assistant director, DSDE&EGC, pointed out that objective of SANKALP is to enhance institutional mechanisms for skill development, increase capacity and ensure access to quality and market relevant training for youth.
The district committee has formed five groups to train unemployed or youth with special focus on the deprived classes.
