Monte’s March raises $508,000 to provide healthy meals to individuals at risk of hunger

Monte Belmonte broadcaster for WRSI, The River, ushered the 43-mile march pushing an empty shopping cart through Western Massachusetts this Monday and Tuesday.

HATFIELD — About $508,000 in donations raised at this year’s Montes March will help provide more than 2 million emergency meals to local families in need.

Christopher “Monte” Belmonte, broadcaster for radio station WRSI, led the 43-mile march Monday and Tuesday while pushing an empty shopping cart to raise awareness and raise funds for foods to people at risk. All donations from the march go to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
