A growing craft beer distributor is expanding to a larger facility on Milwaukee’s northwest side — which might eventually include a beer garden as well as a craft brewery.
Brew City Distribution will lease the industrial building at 5840 N. 60th St., said Tom Dorairaj, who operates the company.
Brew City, a wholesaler of beers produced by such craft brewers as Lakefront Brewery Inc., Raised Grain Brewing Co. and New Barons Brewing Cooperative, operates a warehouse at 3700 N. Fratney St., in the Riverwest neighborhood, as well as facilities in Waukesha and on Milwaukee’s south side.
Brew City plans to consolidates its Waukesha and south side operations at the new location, Dorairaj told the Journal Sentinel. He said the Riverwest operation will eventually move there as well.
The 45,818-square-foot industrial building was purchased by Luna Capital Management LLC, another company operated by Dorairaj, from Pereles Bros. Inc., according to a statement from Paradigm Real Estate LLC commercial real estate brokerage.
Brian Parrish and Matt Friedman, of Paradigm, represented the buyer and Patrick Harahan and Adam Matson, of Newmark, represented the seller.
The sale price was $610,000, Dorairaj said.
Dorairaj is in talks with a vendor who might operate a food truck park and beer garden at the facility.
Another business operator is consider leasing part of the building for a craft brewery, he said.
Dorairaj declined to identify those operators because the plans are still preliminary.
He launched Brew City Distribution in 2019. It has six employees.
