Major cutbacks at Tesla’s factory in Buffalo but hope for future, according to doc filed with ESD

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tesla’s solar factory on South Park Avenue is returning to life, but hasn’t yet ramped up activity to pre-coronavirus levels.

A new document filed Friday with Empire State Development Corp. said the company’s employment count in Buffalo is now at 474 full-time employees, including those on furlough. There are also 49 full-time Tesla contractors there and 398 Panasonic employees, though Panasonic is winding down its operation in Buffalo.
