Lockdown 3.0: Cotton procurement begins in Nagpur at a modest pace | City

Cotton procurement has begun in Nagpur’s cotton procurement centre at MIDC Butibori amidst the ongoing nationwide lockdown against COVID-19. Labourers were seen procuring cotton with proper care and maintaining social distancing. However, due to shortage of labour, procurement operations at the facility are underway at a slow pace. Meanwhile, Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) and its sub-agent The Maharashtra State Co-op. Cotton Growers’ Marketing Federation Limited is procuring Fair Average Quality (FAQ) grade of cotton by offering minimum support price (MSP) to the farmers.
