The Health and Human Services Department abused its discretion and violated due process when it changed its policy for determining how and where donated organs are assigned to liver transplant patients, transplant centers told the Northern District of Georgia.
The centers, including several major university-based health care centers, Dec. 10 renewed efforts to block the HHS from enforcing a new policy that, they said, represents a “seismic shift” in how donated livers are allocated.
