Lenoir County Public Schools released this statement on social media today:
“With some school districts deciding to suspend their meal distribution program during their scheduled Easter break, please be assured that LCPS will operate its feeding program unchanged for Good Friday and the week of April 13 — and as far into the future as there is a need and resources to fill it. Distribution of no-cost lunches and breakfasts during our Easter break is made possible by a large number of LCPS Child Nutrition staff, bus drivers and school staff who have volunteered to forego vacation days on a rotating basis so that families in Lenoir County who need food will receive it. More information on this special effort will be provided next week.”
