Last Feeding America food distribution at NORTHIRON Church Thursday

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) – Thursday marked the last Feeding America food distribution of 2019 at NORTHIRON church in Ishpeming.

Due to snow and ice, organizers say it makes it difficult to move the pallets and food.

This is why they made sure to give people more than a month’s worth of food to last until they restart in March or April, depending on the weather.

“We are out here trying to hold people over. We have some food that can last a couple families more than one month, but our goal is to do this 12 months a year, but right now this is our last month,” said Matthew Block, a volunteer at the church.

For NORTHIRON to do a full 12 months next year, the church says they require extra funding.

Anyone interested in donating can contact NORTHIRON Church for more information.
