Late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon visited Dearborn last week to hang out with Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley, drive a Mustang at the track, and visit workers building the F-150 Ford Lighting at the Rouge Factory.
Farley’s cousin, Chris, and Fallon were once co-stars on Saturday Night Live.
Prior to his visit to Dearborn, Fallon had written a song about the Lightning, but even before that, he has joked about Ford Trucks for years in his stand-up, and on his show.
Fallon and Farley tweeted back and forth to each other after the visit.
Farley tweeted first, “So happy to host @JimmyFallon at @Ford. Fun day at the track and the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, MI surprising our teams building the #F150LightningThanks Jimmy!”
To which Fallon responded, “You are so smart, fun and a badass. Most importantly – you treat your employees like family and I was so happy to see it all first hand. Thank you for inviting me…I told ya I’d come and hang!!!!”
After that Farley responded again saying “YOU are AMAZING!!!!!! Memories for a lifetime JF!”
Farley had apparently invited Fallon out after the song, “Junk in my Frunk” was featured on “The Tonight Show.”
Fallon toured the Ford Rouge Complex, met with factory workers, and then headed to the track with Farley to drive a Mustang.
While at the track, Fallon also got to drive the Lightning.
