Kota: Workers of a thread manufacturing factory in Jhalawar protested outside the premises on Friday demanding compensation for their colleague who died on Thursday. They also demanded that a case of abetment to suicide be filed against the management.
Rajendra Singh (50), a resident of Mahendragarh in Haryana, who was posted as assistant supervisor in the factory, was rushed to SRG hospital after he collapsed while on duty on Thursday morning. However, Singh died during treatment. Jitendra Singh Shekhawat, SHO of Jhalawar city police station told TOI. “According to doctors, Singh suffered a cardiac arrest.” The deceased’s family reached Jhalawar on Friday after which the factory workers staged a protest. They alleged that Singh died due to harassment by his senior officials.
A case of abetment to suicide against assistant general manager N S Verma was filed on Singh’s wife’s complaint. Probe is on, the SHO added.
The workers ended the protest after they reached a negotiation with the management on compensation.
