Kota Kinabalu: The Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) satisfaction with the briefing given by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) and Ministry of Health (MOH) on Covid-19 vaccine procurement and use affirms the government’s transparency, said Sabah MCA Wanita Chief Dr Pamela Yong (pic). She said the satisfaction expressed by PAC, which is headed by opposition MP, Wong Kah Woh (Ipoh Timur-DAP), on the clarification by the Mosti Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, MOH Minister Dr Adham Baba and Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham on the procurement process, prices and use of Covid-19 vaccines affirms that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government has been transparent, open to all forms of ‘inquisitions’, in taking measures to address the health, economic and social fallout from this deadly infectious disease and at the same time, safeguard national interest.
“So it is hoped that the PAC’s statement will put to rest any further allegations by DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang that Malaysia was paying 20 times more than Belgium for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

“But then again, it is more than likely this unfounded allegation by him was just the usual lame, desperate modus operandi of DAP politicians to garner some political high,” she said in a statement.
