Ingram to become UK wholesaler

Ingram is to become a wholesaler in the UK, reports the Bookseller.

Ingram Content Group UK senior vice-president David Taylor said the company will launch the full service in September this year.

‘We’re pleased to be able to confirm to the British book trade that Ingram is establishing a UK-based wholesale offer for books for any title that we can supply from our Milton Keynes operations,’ Taylor said. ‘We have already had many conversations with publishers, distributors, and booksellers as we build and test our model and we’re very happy with the response thus far.’

The UK wholesale market has been reliant on Gardners since the 2020 collapse of Bertrams.

Ingram Content Group UK, which also offers distribution and print-on-demand services, is owned by Ingram Content Group, the largest book distributor and wholesaler in the US.
