IRON MOUNTAIN — The Imagination Factory Children’s Museum recently announced recipients of its Showcase Awards for volunteer work.
Recognized by the museum board of directors for community volunteering and leadership were Menominee Range Investments, LP Building Solutions, Campioni True Value, 41 Lumber, Habitat for Humanity and Bacco Construction, along with individual John Blomquist.
“We are so grateful for recent volunteers who dedicated their talents and time to assist in room renovations for the Imagination Factory Children’s Museum start-up phase,” said Jeff Gurchinoff, museum co-director.
Museum officials also provided an update on progress and coming activities:
— Flooring and painting will be completed in January, with exhibit placement to begin in February;
— Several Our Place Community Center family events will take place in March and April, including Robotics, Book Walk, Family Celebration, Kiwanis Miniature Golf and One Big Day For Healthy Kids;
— A Saturday morning Education Series as been scheduled for March, April and May;
— Special weekend children’s programs will begin in April;
— The Imagination Factory Children’s Museum will open to the public this spring;
— Student leaders in ninth through 12th grades from all local schools are invited to become part of the Imagination Factory Empowerment Team. For more information, go to ourplacecc.org.
