Illegal Poison Unit, Fake Cosmetics Factory Busted In Haryana | Chandigarh News

Chandigarh: A food and drug administration (FDA) team busted a factory of counterfeit multinational products in Faridabad and arrested two people in this regard. It also busted an unlicensed chemical unit in Sonipat that made poison illegally.
Based on a secret input, a team led by officers Karan Godara and Sandeep Gehulan exposed the factory that was duplicating Hindustan Unilever’s ‘Lakme’ and ‘Fitme’ brands. An HUL representative was called for identification and he confirmed that the products were fake. The factory owner has no authorization to make those.
Samples of 16 cosmetic items were taken for testing and 16 other types of products were seized. These included empty bottles, cartons, and tubes carrying the HUL and Arrow Pharma Silvasa Company labels.
These fake cosmetics were to be sold for the originals’ value of about Rs 20 lakh, while the empty bottles and tubes could package products worth Rs 30 lakh. The case was registered at the Adarshnagar police station of Faridabad and manufacturing company partner Amit Mittal and manager Naveen Kumar were arrested.
The fake factory belongs to brothers Amit Mittal and Vipul Mittal. The firm is registered as Mittal Cosmetics at Sadar Bazar in Delhi, even though the counterfeit products were made in Faridabad. State drug controller Manmohan Taneja gave this information to the drugs department of Delhi state and the central general drug controller.
