ICTA to monitor QR-based fuel distribution

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) says that it will monitor the distribution of fuel from filling stations via the QR code system.

Its Chairman, Jayantha de Silva mentioned that the program will be implemented to cover the entire island.

He said that reports of fraud have been reported in about 5% of filling stations in the island when distributing fuel using the QR code system.

ICTA Chairman Jayantha de Silva mentioned that another application will be introduced to distribute information regarding fuel availibility in the future.
