Hyannis man pleads not guilty to heroin distribution charges – News – capecodtimes.com

BARNSTABLE — A 56-year-old Hyannis man pleaded not guilty Monday in Barnstable District Court to two charges of heroin distribution.

Anthony Rose was ordered held without bail for 120 days after a hearing determined he posed a danger to others. The dangerousness hearing followed his arraignment.

The two drug charges were based on separate incidents. On Dec. 20, Sandwich police stopped Rose outside a Stop & Shop at 3:50 p.m. after allegedly seeing him selling heroin.

At 1 p.m. Friday, Barnstable police allegedly saw Rose make a drug deal a few streets away from his Hyannis home on Connemara Circle. After pulling Rose over, officers found $832 in cash, according to a police report.

A baggie of heroin was found in the car, and four more bags were found near where police stopped the car, the report says. Officers also found a folding knife in Rose’s pocket.

Probable cause hearings on the charges are set for Feb. 21.
