A Public Procurement Anti-Corruption Agency (PPACA) is the medicine Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has prescribed for the illness of tender corruption plaguing South Africa’s public sector.

Interestingly, Parliament will have limited involvement with this agency once it is established, and it will have its own litigation unit instead of relying on the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), which has been the subject of criticism from the Zondo Commission.
