HIP welcomes VIP delegation from ASEAN

A VIP delegation from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visited the Hambantota International Port on Saturday, 24th September to familiarise themselves with the port’s facilities and services offered. The delegation consisted of Dato’ Tan Yang Thai, High Commissioner of Malaysia, Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Indonesia, Ho Thi Thanh Truc, Ambassador of Vietnam and their respective diplomatic entourages.

The delegates were met by HIP management at Sky Lounge where Raymond Mu, CFO of Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG), and Capt. Ravi Jayawickreme, CEO of Hambantota International Port Services (HIPS), gave them a short introduction to the port’s current business and future development plans. A more detailed presentation was made by Bindu Ranasinghe, DGM-Commercial and Marketing of Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG). Subsequent discussions were also held with the port officials present. The visit ended with a tour of the port and the port industrial park.
