Hi-Wire Brewing is a rapidly growing brewery based in Asheville, NC, specializing in approachable and balanced lagers and ales. Since opening our first location in 2013, our hard-working, creative, and passionate team has been recognized with several accolades, including: 3 Gold medals from the Great American Beer Festival, a Bronze Medal from the World Beer Cup, and several awards from Paste Magazine and the NC Brewers Cup. With 8 taprooms located across NC, TN, and KY, and distribution to 9 states (NC, SC, TN, KY, OH, GA, AL, IN, and VA), we strive to drive the company towards our vision: Create meaningful experiences by making the highest quality beer, cultivating community, and inspiring fun and ingenuity.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Key Account Manager for Hi-Wire Brewing, you will work with our sales team and wholesalers to build our presence in key retail chain accounts across our 9 state footprint.  This job requires the demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships, build effective presentations backed by data, and deliver strategies that will positively affect the business of some of our largest and most important retailers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Work with our sales team to develop strong working partnerships and high levels of interaction with our distributors and retailers.

  • Develop communication techniques that inspire action on the part of our wholesalers and sales team.

  • Participate in business meetings with our wholesalers and work directly with our wholesaler Key Account Managers to develop region specific strategies

  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations with prospective and current chain buyers to expand our distribution on existing items and gain distribution on new items.

  • Integrate internally with our marketing and sales team, and externally with our wholesalers and chains to ensure successful execution at retail.

  • Effectively develop and communicate programs in line with our company initiatives that leverage our brand story and what makes us unique.

  • Track distribution status, pricing, promotional activity and program execution levels.  

  • Develop pricing strategies and surveys to ensure proper execution of promotional programs and price adjustments.

  • Develop distribution goals and sales targets for the key accounts you call on.  

  • Use an analytical data-driven approach to discover and develop sales opportunities

  • Maintain professional image and attitude at all times including during and after the consumption of alcohol.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION:

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum four years’ experience in the beverage industry.

  • Knowledge about the three-tier system.  Preferably having worked in a position that involved adult-beverage distributors.

  • Prior experience calling on Off-Premise Chains and Corporate buyers

  • Proven experience with analyzing data such as VIP, IRI, Nielsen, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships, develop business plans, focus on goals/objectives, and deliver results.

  • Excellent consultative selling skills with proven success in working with key accounts.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

  • Experience analyzing data (specifically VIP, IRI, Nielsen, etc.) to deliver insights and direct action.

  • Aptitude to think creatively and translate strategy into actionable tactics.

  • Ability to work independently, make collaborative decisions and manage deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to travel out of area and overnight, as to work flexible and extended hours.

  • Knowledge of the Craft Beer industry

  • Must have a clean driving record, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
