HERMANTOWN, MN — The Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce will host a free drive-thru mask distribution for area businesses on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The event aims to ensure businesses have access to disposable masks for their employees and customers, following the recent Minnesota statewide mask mandate.

Last Friday, a shipment of masks arrived in St. Louis County which was dispersed to other Chambers of Commerce.

72,000 masks will remain in the Duluth and Hermantown area for distribution to local businesses.

Masks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

The event is taking place in the parking lot at the City of Hermantown Administration building from 12-4 p.m.

Those attending are asked to remain in their vehicle and line up along the parking lot curb.

Drivers will be asked a series of questions, then masks will be placed in the vehicle by event volunteers.

Businesses do not need to be Chamber members to receive masks.

Because these masks are supplied by the State of Minnesota, businesses must not charge employees or customers for their use.
