TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor, on Wednesday’s Jakarta Corruption Court trial, said that the procurement of the AgustaWestland 101 helicopter initially planned to accommodate the President’s VIP and VVIP guests caused a state loss of Rp738.9 billion.
“The defendant John Irfan Kenway or Irfan Kurnia Saleh or Irfan Kurnia committed an act that harmed state finances amounting to Rp738.9 billion as stated in the Report on the Calculation of State Financial Losses on the Procurement of the AW-101 Transport Helicopter in the Indonesian Air Force in 2016 by an expert from the Accounting Forensic Unit. Directorate of Corruption Detection and Analysis at KPK” said the antigraft watchdog’s spokesman Arief Suhermanto in the trial on October 12.
Irfan’s actions were carried out together with Lorenzo Pariani as Head of Region Southeast Asia Leonardo Helicopter Division AgustaWestland Products, Bennyanto Sutjiadji as Director Lejardo, Pte. Ltd., Agus Supriatna as Air Force Chief of Staff and Budget User Authority for January 2015 – January 2017, Heribertus Hendi Haryoko as Head of the Air Force Procurement Service (Kadisada AU) and Commitment Making Officer (PPK) in 2015 – 20 June 2016.
In this case, Irfan was also charged with enriching Agus Supriatna Rp17.7 billion, the AgustaWestland company for US$29,500,000 or equivalent to Rp391,616,035,000 and the Lejardo company. Pte.Ltd in the amount of US$10,950,826.37 or Rp146.342,494,088.87.
