Guided tour about the process of making Gunpla will be held on December 14
The Gundam Base Tokyo shop in Odaiba will hold a tour on December 14 of its Factory Zone exclusively for children in elementary or middle school.
The “Factory Zone” is a replica of the Bandai Hobby Center, where gunpla is manufactured. The guides will share little-known facts about the process of making gunpla and about the Bandai Hobby Center. As part of the tour, the participants will also create a 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam gunpla. There will also be a quiz.
There will be two sessions on the day, one from 11:00am to 1:00pm, and another from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. It will cost 1,500 yen (US$13) to participate. To sign up, you must register at the Painting Room inside the Gundam Base Tokyo. Up to six people will be able to participate in each session. More information about how to participate and the schedule for the tour are available on the Gundam Base’s website.
The Gundam Base Tokyo shop has shelves filled with Gunpla but is also home to character goods, apparel, accessories, and other Gundam merchandise for any fan of the franchise. It was established in 2017, replacing the previous “Gundam Front Tokyo” mini-theme park.
