Govt is committed to ensure smooth paddy procurement

Senior officials of the Chhattisgarh government on Thursday inspected paddy procurement centres across the state and sought feedback on the arrangements.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Wednesday inspected and commenced the procurement from farmers on minimum support price.

On Thursday, all senior officers including Divisional Commissioners, Inspectors General of Police, Collectors and Superintendents of Police visited the centres.

They monitored the arrangements and sought comments from local officials and interacted with the farmers.

The Principal Secretary in the Forest Department, Manoj Pingua inspected the centres in Balrampur-Ramanujganj.

Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, Village Industries Department, visited Mahasamund district and Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Public Works Department and Secretary to Chief Minister, went to Durg district.

Raipur Collector Saurabh Kumar, Inspector General of Police Dr. Anand Chhabra and Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar Agrawal did the inspection at Abhanpur-based centres.

The society’s office bearers were asked to take special care of small and marginal farmers.
