The Government of Odisha will issue identification cards to about 76 lakh farmers in the state. This would enable them to avail various government benefits through these cards.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a series of online services of the department of agriculture and farmers empowerment  in the capital Bhubaneswar yesterday.

He said the identity cards will be issued after the completion of the screening of the database within a hundred days. He said that agriculture has emerged as a big hope for the economy during the covid-19 pandemic.
