Government of Kyrgyzstan to consider issue of personal assistance for people with disabilities older than 18

AKIPRESS.COM – The issue of a personal assistance for people with disabilities older than 18 years is in the agenda of the government, Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Altynai Omurbekova told the Birinchi Radio.

She reminded that the issue of a personal assistant was resolved in 2019.

“This was one of the achievements of our government. A lot of parents of children with disabilities were caring for them and could not work of course. They appealed with a request to resolve this issue. And we inroduced this position – a personal assistant. Now the government makes certain payments for mothers or someone else for caring of children with disabilities. They will have access to pensions. This is 4,900 som per month,” she said.

According to Omurbekova, in terms of children with disabilities older than 18 years, the issue is under consideration.
