Goods Worth Lakhs Gutted In Sector 63 Factory Fire | Noida News

Noida: A massive fire broke out at a cardboard factory in Sector 63 on Friday morning, officials said. Though there were no injuries, around 30 people were allegedly working at the factory at the time of the incident. Goods worth lakhs of rupees have been burnt.
According to the chief fire officer (CFO) Arun Kumar Singh, the fire took place at around 7.40 am and 18 fire brigades were rushed to the spot to control the fire.
“The fire broke out at the basement of the company following which the staff tried to extinguish the flames. However, it could not be controlled, so they informed the police as well as the fire department. Fire brigades, not only from Phase-III, but also from other fire stations were called,” Singh said.
He added that it took over two hours to control the fire.
“There was no fatality reported in the incident. Prima facie it appears that the fire got triggered due to a short circuit in the basement. However, an investigation has been initiated into the matter to ascertain the actual reason for fire and the amount of damage caused,” the officer mentioned.
