Last weekend the first Peruvian mangoes arrived by sea freight at Hars & Hagebauer in Ridderkerk, Netherlands. “Brazil traditionally stops around week 51, so there is plenty of room for Peru’s mangoes to enter the market,” expects Henk van der Meij. ” The market is relatively good and there is a particular demand for big sizes.”

The importer expects a healthy market situation until week 2 of next year. “Many supermarket campaigns are planned. Now there will be enough mangoes from Peru this year, but due to the high percentage of small sizes, pricing can still be good. The Kent mangoes are of good quality.”
