Glideaway’s new facility includes warehouse and office space.
ST. LOUIS — Glideaway has moved its warehouse and distribution operations to the new165-acre Tradeport logistics complex in Hazelwood, Mo.
There the company will occupy more than 111,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. The new distribution center will host 18 loading docks and enhanced storage capacity with the warehouse’s 40-foot ceiling heights. Sprinkler, security and video surveillance systems have been installed to guarantee the safety of the stored goods.
Glideaway’s headquarters and factory will remain at 8226 Lackland Road in St. Louis.
“It’s rewarding to see the new space take shape and become active, knowing the value it will bring to our customers,” said Zev Fredman, president of Glideaway. “Glideaway’s strategic expansion to Tradeport speaks to the growth opportunities we see in the bedding market. This investment is part of our customer-centric approach to provide them with the best Glideaway experience, inventory and delivery being critical components of that experience.”
“We’re preparing for a rapid resurgence in demand as more markets open post-COVID-19,” said Dan Baker, senior vice president of national accounts. “With this distribution center, we have the capability to hold greater inventory and improve delivery speeds to our customers.”
He said Glideaway’s new distribution center will support the introduction of new products.
“We are continuously developing new sleep products and gaining customers with constantly changing market demands,” Baker said. “Today, more than ever, retailers want the products in stock, competitively priced and delivered in a timely manner.”
Family-owned Glideaway is a supplier of adjustable bed bases, steel frames, mattresses, headboards, protectors and pillows.
