LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 18 (SeeNews) – German motorhome manufacturer Carthago has started the construction of 45 million euro ($48.6 million) factory in Ormoz, northeastern Slovenia, the director of the Slovenian unit of Carthago, Sandra Zupanec, said.
Carthago plans to start production at the new factory in 2023, when the first 160 new employees will be hired, Zupanec said in a video file posted on the website of the Slovenian government on Saturday.
The German company, which has been operating a factory for the production of motorhomes in Odranci since 2008, plans to convert vans into motorhomes of its Malibu Van model at the Ormoz location, public broadcaster RTV reported.
Carthago currently has about 1,500 employees and is considered one of the leading manufacturers of motorhomes in Europe. The company’s vans, partially integrated and integrated motorhomes cover a price range from around 50,000 euro to 200,000 euro.
