Geneva Boys & Girls Clubs food distribution feeds another 400

Geneva Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director Chris Lavin calls it “the Geneva Food Revolution.”

With the help of volunteers, the Clubs provided healthy food for another four hundred people last week. During the drive-through events, cars are loaded with meat, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, canned goods, beverages and bread.

“This is part of post-pandemic Geneva,’’ said Lavin. We learned a lot about food insecurity during the darkest days of COVID-19. FoodLink of Rochester finds the food, from private and public sources, and we help get it to where it can do great things for families. With grocery prices soaring, we are seeing almost endless demand.’’

The distributions are held the first and third Thursday of each month at 160 Carter Road, Geneva from noon to 2 p.m. There are no eligibility requirements. Volunteers are needed for each event. Call 315-759-6060.
